Located in northwestern Uganda, Ziwa rhino sanctuary and ranch is the home to over 22 endangered wild rhinos in Uganda. The Rhino Fund project is seated on 100miles along the Gulu highway aims at the reintroduction of the southern white rhino back into the wild. The war in 1970s, poaching, mismanagement and hunting led to extinction of the rhinos leading to the reintroduction of the southern white rhino in 2005. It’s a home to over 40 mammal species, reptiles and birds.
